THE
COTTESWOLD NATURALISTS'
FIELD CLUB
Founded 1846
The Cotteswold Naturalists' Field Club, a Geologists' Association
affiliate organisation, is arguably the oldest club of
its kind in England. It has witnessed major advances in natural history,
geology, agriculture, rural economy, archaeology and local history. Our
fundamental ideas have remained little changed, but have a flexibility
that allows the Club to stride forward with hope into the future.
Purposes
The purpose of the Club shall be to promote interest in
the natural history, environment, antiquities and cultural history of Gloucestershire,
the Cotswolds and elsewhere, as desired, and to provide the facilities for
its members to study, appreciate and enjoy them.
Meetings
Winter Lecture Meetings are held from October to April.
Summer
Field Meetings in Gloucestershire and neighbouring counties are held from
